Overfinch reveal one-of-one 450bhp soft-top Land Rover Defender 90

Overfinch have taken a Defender 90 and turned it into a 6.2-litre V8-powered soft-top costing a whopping £239,990.

Specially commissioned for one lucky customer, Overfinch has renovated a Defender 90 into a custom-made, ultra-luxury 4x4 with a wealth of expensive parts and modifications.

London-based Overfinch are highly regarded for their work on customising Land Rovers and Range Rovers, although this vehicle is probably more likely to be seen along the streets of London opposed to a farm in rural England.

Don’t be mistaken however; just because it’s based on a car from the 80s doesn’t mean it’s incapable. It features a GM-sourced 450bhp 6.2-litre V8 engine – most likely the same one that appears in the Chevrolet Camaro SS – for plenty of power whilst sporting uprated brakes to help slow it back down. On top of that, there’s a stainless-steel sports exhaust to help amplify that thunderous V8’s soundtrack.

Finished in green paint with a green and tan leather interior, the Overfinch Defender 90 also has Recaro sports seats to provide passengers with extra stability when cornering quickly or adventuring off-road. There’s also a number of chrome pieces dotted in and around the interior, which is a typical inclusion when it comes to the brand’s work.

Other exterior additions include Overfinch’s own 18-inch alloy wheels, a silver SVX front grille and contrasting silver bonnet, all of which should help ensure the Defender doesn’t get mistaken for the regular version.

Whilst Defenders typically have seats in the back, these have been replaced in this commission with teak decking and a lockable storage box, complete with an Overfinch ‘Special-Comission’ plaque. A roll cage also appears to help complete the look whilst naturally offering protection to those inside.

Despite the fact this Defender 90 is as a one-off, it remains available in both right and left-hand drive, as said by Overfinch. Does this mean more similar models could be on the way?
